The GiggleSeed team is still at it!
In the last nine days the team has been tearing up the basecamp account with ideas, assigning to-dos, twittering, blogging, coding, testing apps, sharing resources and conducting market research.
As planned the the team has been working independently on their assignment when ever they have a spare moment and meeting if necessary.
There have been posts and e-mails circulating in the wee hours of the morning because team members find it hard to sleep. We think it’s caused by the sheer excitement of creating GiggleSeed and an iPhone app that farts.
However it may also be large quantities of Mountain Dew, Starbucks and Red Bull consumed.
Mmmm. I wonder what that would taste like if mixed together? That sounds like an experiment to catch on tape at our next outing. I’ll let you know how that tastes in a future video post!
GiggleSeed Meets
On Sunday, July 27th at 7pm, the GiggleSeed team caught up with each other at their first post Startup Weekend team meeting. All but two of the original team were present. One team member was running Cat5 cable and couldn’t pull himself away, the other decided to excuse himself from the team because of other commitments.
We kicked off the meeting with updates from each of the groups.
Project Management
From the project management side basecamp was reorganized to include going forward categories and it was cleaned up a bit.
Programmers
Our development team is learning iPhone coding and are very close to generating toots! The developers let us know they had completed several clean installs to their machines in an effort to fix errors that existed, they have also tapped other resources and tell us they are close. Progress is being made daily.
Biz Dev
The biz dev team continue to pursue the application process and they anxiously await code completion to be able to submit our app to Apple.
Graphics and Web
The graphics and web team are refining the site, working on branding guidelines, skinning the blog, redirecting links and developing the graphics for the application.
Marketing
The marketing team reported back that they created additional videos of behind the scenes for the commercial, behind the scenes in the bunker at TechColumbus and posted the press release, video, and story out through viral means.
Video Interviews
To wrap up our meeting each team participated in a 3 to 5 minute video interview that we will post on this blog as well as YouTube.
Our focus for the video was really a retrospective look one week later at Startup Weekend. We decided we would describe our roles, explain what we accomplished, and share what we plan to accomplish in the very near future.
For those future Startup Weekend participants seeking knowledge searching for information about startup weekends and companies formed, the videos and this blog will act as a source. We’ll do our best to communicate our experience and help those reading understand what they may expect.
We hope our story, our experience, and ultimately our success will be viewed as valuable insight into a great weekend and an even greater opportunity. Stay tuned for our upcoming video interviews.
Until next time…
